MWM: Max Factor Dazzling Blue

There are two colours from the Max Factor mini nail polish range that look like no other polish I've ever seen - in the bottle. Dazzling Blue and Moon Dust have absolutely beautiful duo-chrome shimmers, I've had Moon Dust for a while and I absolutely adore it (not sure I've ever owned a purple polish that I haven't loved).
I picked up Dazzling Blue on Saturday and I have to say I am very disappointed.

First of all, the formula is very thin, so even after 3 coats the polish wasn't nearly opaque, and the bumpy texture of my nails showed through. I rarely experience this with any polishes, and especially after I've put my Sally Hansen insta-dri over the top. Second of all, it chipped like crazy in less than 24 hours. I wasn't doing anything intensive, just a bit of typing, washed my hair, and at least 4 nails were visibly chipped.

The colour is pretty - if you catch it in the right light. It's a shimmery, dusty blue with a bright sea green when it hits the light, but as you can see from the pictures, it chipped so badly I'm not sure it's worth the £3.99, especially as the bottle is tiny.

I'd like to try it as a topcoat over a turquoise or a blue and fingers crossed I'll be a little more happy with it.

Primark felt eyeliner, must buy!

Hey guys,

Just a super quick post before I head off to work.

You simply MUST grab the Primark felt eyeliner pen if you can get your hands on one!
Pigmented, no going over and over to get an opaque finish
Not too dry not too wet, doesn't smudge but goes on super easily
Pen nib precise, that's saying something coming from someone with hooded eyes :)

This thing is SO easy to use. I've never been big into winged eyeliner but I find myself using this every day because it's just so easy and fun! Grab one if you can!

MWM: Interview Pink

I've had a few interviews over the past few weeks and my chosen polish colour is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Pink At Him (£6.99 from Boots)
It's the perfect baby pink colour that makes your manicure noticeable without being too much of a statement.
I put it on 2 nights before my interview (so I'm not worrying about doing my nails the night before when I'm practicing) and it lasts without chipping for around 4-5 days.

All the best, PB XO

Haul and Review: Primark Cosmetics

I popped into Primark early last week to get some bits and bobs for my placement interviews over February, and I ended up going back again later in the week because I was intrigued by their new cosmetics range.

Primark is not the type of shop I'd ever consider buying cosmetics from, however I've seen a lot of bloggers talking about chubby stick type lip products, and being unsure whether I'd like that style of packaging I decided to pick one up from Primark, it was only £1.50 after all.

I was definitely pleasantly surprised. On my first run I picked up the red shade, which is super glossy, doesn't taste or smell offensive and adds a really nice glaze to your lips. Obviously the staying power isn't amazing but I can live with that for £1.50, especially considering how much product you get when you twist up the bottom. The product is literally the same size as the packaging it comes in. When I went back I picked up the nude shade which is again a nice light glaze to the lips.

Their lip stain was a bit disappointing. On my hand, it stained so well that 2 wet wipes couldn't budge it, however on my lips only a few hours after applying it ended up going patchy and awful. I think this was around £1.
